Mulching Service
Our Basics Mulching Service provides a clean, durable layer of mulch applied to planting beds, trees, and shrub areas to improve soil health, retain moisture, suppress weeds, and give landscapes a finished, uniform appearance.
What’s Included
Site assessment: Brief inspection of beds to identify existing conditions and determine mulch depth and type.
Bed preparation: Light edging and debris removal (leaves, sticks, old mulch clumps) to create a neat planting area.
Mulch selection: Choice of commonly used options such as shredded hardwood, double-ground hardwood, or dyed mulch (client preference).
Application: Even distribution of mulch to a standard depth of 2–3 inches for established beds or 3–4 inches around new plantings and trees.
Cleanup: Brush and clear mulch away from sidewalks, driveways, and lawn areas; leave site tidy.
Benefits
Conserves soil moisture, reducing irrigation needs.
Suppresses weed growth by blocking sunlight.
Moderates soil temperature, protecting roots in heat and cold.
Improves soil structure and nutrient content over time as organic mulch decomposes.
Gives a consistent, attractive appearance to landscape beds.
Service Options & Add‑Ons
Bed edging and reshaping for a more defined look.
Removal and disposal of existing old or contaminated mulch.
Increased mulch depth for erosion-prone slopes.
Premium mulch types (cedar, cypress, or engineered blends).
Seasonal refresh schedule (spring and/or fall).
Recommendations
Replace or refresh mulch every 1–2 years for best appearance and function.
Maintain 1–2 inch clearance between mulch and plant stems or tree trunks to prevent rot and pest issues.
For weed-prone beds, consider combining mulch with a landscape fabric or pre-emergent application (discuss with technician).
Scheduling & Estimates
We provide on-site or photo-based estimates. Pricing is based on bed size, mulch type, depth, and any additional preparation or removal required. Contact us to arrange an estimate and recommended timing for application.
Quality Assurance
Work is performed by trained crews using professional equipment. We inspect completed jobs to ensure uniform coverage, neat edges, and proper mulch depth to meet industry best practices.
